Feedback from customers who have purchased my DerbyEggs

Customer satisfaction is very important to me and I always ask people to let me know when the DerbyEggs arrive and how their ferrets like them. If I don't hear back from people, I make sure I do a follow-up to check on the eggs and also how their ferrets reacted to them especially if this was their first time they have ordered DerbyEggs.

I have purchased other eggs similar to yours but the quality of your eggs is truly outstanding and I will be ordering more from you. Karen, the eggs were waiting for me when I got home. Somehow my kids seemed to know what was in the box before I could get it opened. Ferrets came from every direction and wanted to help; dooking and dancing as I have never seen before. I gave each kid an egg and had to laugh as they ran off with their precious new toy, hid it and then came back for another. We had a good laugh over their antics and will be sending you a few pictures we were able to snap.

Karen could you possibly share your secret about these eggs? I have purchased other crochet eggs for our ferrets and they weren't all that excited about them but when I won six of your DerbyEggs in a raffle and gave them to our kids, they went totally bonkers. I have read other comments about your eggs and I will have to agree it is that extra pinch of love you stitch into each one that makes the difference. I read one of your posts on a ferret board saying your said a prayer for each egg you make for the ferret who will get that egg and I know it must be true; from the moment we gave your eggs to our ferrets they danced and dooked as I have never seen them before, there is something truly very special about your eggs.

Please don't ever stop doing whatever it is you do when making the eggs. Your DerbyEggs have made our ferrets very happy. Even some of our oldsters dooked for the first time in a long time and just that small thing was a blessing for us seeing some of our old kids get excited for the first time in a very long time. Looking in on our kids at night we often find one or more of them with one of their eggs nearby or even in the sleep sac with them.

As a shelter mom, we have gotten into the practice of sending a brand new DerbyEgg home with each ferret adopted so they can take something familiar with them to their new home. Hope you keep those crochet hooks flying for a long time to come as I will be ordering more from you as I need them.

Karen, thank you very much for your latest batch of DerbyEggs. Each time I order eggs for the kids, they seem to get prettier than the last bunch I ordered. And the kids never seem to tire of getting a new DerbyEgg. Little stinkers, they have so many already stashed away and one of these days I am going to go on an egg hunt just to see where they have them all hidden and take an official egg count. :-)

DerbyEggs are the best believe me! Your eggs are great, I have had other people's eggs too (bought them from a shelter to help out) and I can see the quality difference, their's are by far not as nice, and do not hold up so well. Yours hold up, and stay so nice, others come apart on me but have not had that with yours, so keep up the great work by far they are the best :)

And ohhh so many colors to choose from. hmm.......... how about pink/purple, pink/yellow, purple /yellow and well anything else it really doesn't matter we are not picky here! I like all colors, a variety is nice. Your eggs are always so pretty so you cant go wrong :) Oh can't wait to give Dakota her DerbyEggs. The eggs are great and the kids love them, especially Dakota which is why I just had to order her some for her birthday, on Jan 30th. I can't believe she will be 3!

OMG We had a blast playing together today. Ace LOVES the DerbyEggs......... but Maverick, since he's deaf and can't hear the sweet rattling, he doesn't know what to do with them yet. He occasionally wrestles and sleeps with them. YES!! THANKS SO MUCH KARENNNNNNNNNN!!

My kids immediately take their eggs and "stash" them as soon as I open the box with I order eggs. I order again when I can't locate any of the eggs or I don't hear them constantly shaking them all up. Belle has a tendency to destroy them from shaking them so hard.

Dear Karen,

Until today I did not know you and had never heard of you so I certainly had no idea just what a "DerbyEgg" was. I received a large box today addressed to my home with return address belonging to a post office box. I opened the box and it was full of crocheted eggs. Inside the box was a brief note saying the eggs had been purchased from you along with a business card with the name "DerbyEggs AND More" and stating the eggs were a donation for our small shelter.

There I sat in stunned silence wondering who had made such a loving gesture to our little shelter. Just then a small head poked up and began peering into the box, then another and another and another. Puck stood up on his hind legs trying to get a better look at the contents of the box and in a split second he leaped into the box, snatching one of the eggs in his teeth, and off he dashed with his new treasure. I quickly sat the box up higher, giving myself a moment to try to figure this all out. Taking your business card I went to my computer, typing in your web site address; I wanted to see just what a DerbyEgg was and to maybe get an idea of what this was all about. Skimming through your web site I came to a page with pictures of an old ferret named Derby and the connection dawned on me; the ferret "Derby" and "DerbyEggs". I admit my eyes filled with tears when I read she had gone to the Rainbow Bridge; this lovely gift I had been given and I had not had the chance to know this grand old ferret.

Continuing on through your web site I then came to the Rainbow Bridge page and then I knew that I knew you. You had contacted me once after reading on another ferret board about loosing one of our ferrets and asking if I would like her name added to the story. Tears filled my eyes when I saw Lucy's name along with some of the others' names I had asked you to add; Lucy, Freckles, Snowie, Foxie, Squeaker, and Georgia; just a few of the names of ferrets we had lost over the past years as a shelter mom.

For whoever donated the eggs to our shelter, please thank them and let them know how touched I am in their generous gift. After giving the kids a few of the eggs, they showed me without speaking a word just how happy they were with their new treasures. If they could speak, I am sure they would be praising the name DerbyEggs. The eggs are so beautiful, lovely colors, I can tell the yarn is a very good quality and you do such a wonderful job making the eggs. Sorry for this long "thank you" but I wanted to impress on you just what this means to me.

All ferrets love your DerbyEggs Karen, I think all ferrets need to have at least a dozen, some for playing with and some for hiding.

They know you make each one with a special bit of love inside.

Karen, I purchased my first DerbyEggs at a ferret show and when I asked the girl where I could get more, she was down to just two eggs, she said she didn't have any more of your business cards with your web address. She suggested I go online and do a search for DerbyEggs and when I did, your site popped up. I just placed an order with you for six dozen eggs! Eggs for our kids and eggs to take to our next ferret club meeting. I can't wait to show everyone your wonderful eggs, I am sure other members there will be wanting some for their kids. The yarn is so soft, where do you get your yarn BTW? You are so talented, you should open a small shop or start going to ferret shows, I am sure you could sell all the eggs you could possibly make.

Karen, wanted to let you know we had to let Muffy go last night. As you know her health had continued to fail and there was nothing else to do but show her one last act of kindness.

She was cremated in her favorite sleep sac you made for her and we placed a couple of her most treasured items in with her; two of her DerbyEggs. Thank you so much for keeping our little girl in eggs and for all the wonderful bedding you made for her. If you gave Muffy her choice, she would go every time to one her sleep sacs from you and she always had to have a couple of her DerbyEggs in there with her at night. Karen we will never forget your kindness or the generosity you showed our baby. Maybe when our hearts have healed we will get another ferret. I hope you will still be making your wonderful eggs if we need more.

Hello Karen,

THANK YOU for such wonderful eggs! It is not often we get nice eggs for the kiddos. Years ago we had a volunteer who made nice eggs like yours but the last few years our eggs to support the shelter were pale in comparison. The last eggs have huge openings around them and it is easy for the ferret teeth to tear the yarn off. These will be a real treat!

I guess I will have to order extra eggs the next time I place an order with you. There is a war going on at our house; the ferrets "know" the eggs are for them but our two cats have discovered them as well. It is a riot to sit back and watch the cats playing with the eggs, a ferret nearby watching and then in a split second they dash in to grab one of the eggs and go running off at top speed to hid the egg before the cat can catch them and take the it back.

Do you by any chance make eggs for cats that would be any different from the eggs you make for the ferrets? lol It probably wouldn't matter to the ferrets, I think they would still steal them from the cats.
